About the Location

Finchley Library Church Lane opened in 2017 in a modern building with excellent facilities.  It's a lovely library with a great selection of children's, teens, and adult fiction books.  You can borrow 20 books for 3 weeks and renew up to 4 times!  The staff are very helpful.  There are automated color/black & white printing facilities, with convenient after-hours access.  It takes 5 minutes to get a library membership card, valid at all libraries throughout Barnet.

Finchley is a Saxon place name dating from the 13th century, with 'ley' meaning opening in woodland, and 'finch' a type of small bird.

Barnet is the second largest burough by population in London.
